Dr. Rajesh R. Kulkarni is a Professor in the Department of Community Medicine at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research (KAHER), Belagavi, Karnataka, India.
He holds an MBBS from Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences, Hubli, an MD in Community Medicine from JNMC, Belagavi, and a Ph.D. in Diabetes from KAHER. Additionally, he has earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Endocrinology and Diabetes from the Royal College of Physicians (RCP), London, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Diabetes and Hypertension from the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI). He has also undergone specialized training in Hypertension, Obesity, and Diabetes at Harvard Medical School.
With over 15 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic administration, Dr. Kulkarni has served in various academic capacities including Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. His areas of research include diabetes, hypertension, community health, and public health interventions, with more than 50 publications in Scopus- and PubMed-indexed journals.
He has mentored Ph.D., MD, MPH, and MBBS students, significantly contributing to research training and academic capacity building. Dr. Kulkarni has led and participated in several national and international funded research projects supported by organizations such as the World Bank, USAID, and Government of India.
